HITOSHI ABE - AOBA-TEI RESTAURANT (2004-05)

HITOSHI ABE
was born in 1962 in Sendai, Miyagi.
He worked from 1988 to 1988 in the office of Coop Himmelbau
and obtained his Master of Architecture degree from
the Southern California Institute of Architecture(SCI-Arc) in 1989.
He created his own firm, Atelier Hitoshi Abe, in 1992.
From 1994 , he directed the Hitoshi Abe Architectural Design Laboratory
at the Tohoku Institute of Technology.
He has been a Professor at Tohoku University since 2002.His work includes:
the Miyagi Water Tower,Rifu,Miyagi(1994)
the Gravel-2 House, Sendai, (1998)
the Neige Lune Fleur Restaurant, Sendai(1999)
the Miyagi Stadium, Rifu, Miyagi (2000)
the Michinoku Folklore Museum,Kurikoma, Miyagi (2000)
and the A-House,Sendai(2000).
More recently, he has been working on the JB House,
the S-Orthopedics Factory and Office Building, all located in Sendai.
He won,the 2003 Architectural Institute of Japan Award for the Reihoku Community Hall,Reihoku,Kumamoto (2001-02)
